SPP partnered with the Australia India Institute (AII), the Australia India Chamber of Commerce (AICC), and Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD), to convene a three-part workshop series to understand and explore opportunities and challenges for the growth of the Australia-India International Education relationship.
Dr. Andrew Deuchar, the institute’s academic fellow for this paper shared at the event some key recommendations from the publication:
- Recognising the skills, qualifications, prior learning and accreditation of students to maximise student mobility and employability.
- Meeting the demand for vocational education and training in Australia among Indian young people.
- And diversifying the delivery of Australian qualifications by twinning with Indian institutions and enabling pathways to employment and potential migration.
“If there’s one theme unifying each of these areas, it’s that strategies for engagement need to be mutually beneficial to all partners” Dr. Deuchar said.
The event sums up how education can play a pivotal role in bringing Australia and India closer together.
