Tushar Joshi is a Research and Policy Officer at the Australia India Institute and a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne. His research explores the domestic drivers shaping India’s foreign policy towards China, alongside broader interests in Indo-Pacific security architecture, the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, minilateralism, and geopolitical dynamics.
At the British High Commission in New Delhi, he supported work on strengthening bilateral political relations between the UK and India. Tushar was awarded the Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship, completed a Master of International Relations at the University of Sydney, and holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History from the University of Delhi.
His analysis of India’s foreign policy and strategic affairs has been featured in leading platforms including The Strategist(ASPI), The Diplomat, The Interpreter (Lowy Institute), and the Australian Financial Review.
