Tushar Joshi is Research and Policy Officer at the Australia India Institute. His research interests include a strong focus on foreign policy, particularly Indian foreign policy, Indo-Pacific security architecture, the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, minilateralism and multilateralism, as well as geopolitical and geoeconomic affairs. Notably, Tushar has conducted research analyzing India’s participation in the resurrected Quad or Quad 2.0.
His previous employment includes internships at the India office of Asia Society, Macquarie Global Services, and the British High Commission in New Delhi. At the British High Commission, he contributed to the High Commission’s work on bilateral political relations between the UK and India. Moreover, Tushar has demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteer and mentorship roles. During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tushar served as one of the Asha Corona Warriors, actively supporting the Asha Society in their mission to assist the slum dwellers in Delhi.
Tushar Joshi, a recipient of the Sydney Scholar India Equity Scholarship, completed his Masters of International Relations at the University of Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Arts with honours in history from the University of Delhi.
