Raghbendra Jha is Emeritus Professor of Economics, Arndt-Corden Department of Economics (ACDE), Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. He was educated at University of Delhi (BA (Hons.) and MA) and Columbia University (MPhil and PhD). He is a Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation.
From 2001 to 2021 he was Professor in ACDE and Executive Director of Australia South Asia Research Centre and between 2014 and 2017 he was Head of ACDE. He has also taught at Columbia University and Williams College in the US, Queen’s University in Canada, University of Warwick in the UK and Delhi School of Economics, IIM Bengaluru, NIPFP and IGIDIR Mumbai in India. He has published dozens of books with leading publishers such as Oxford University Press, Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, Edward Elgar and World Scientific and more than one hundred scientific papers in leading journals and other refereed outlets.
He specialises in Public Economics, Macroeconomics, Development Economics and the economics of India.
