The Australia India Institute was pleased to host a lecture with Ven. Geshe Lhakdor, Director of the Library of Tibetan Works & Archives (LTWA) in Dharamshala, India; one of the world’s leading institutions dedicated to preserving Tibetan language, culture, manuscripts, and intellectual traditions.
In this lecture, ‘Wisdom and Compassion in a Changing World: Australia, India and Tibet’, Geshe Lhakdor shared reflections on Tibetan knowledge traditions, the importance of cultural preservation, and the role of compassion in today’s world, acknowledging the Year of Compassion which marks His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday.
This event offered a valuable opportunity to explore the cultural and intellectual connections between Australia, India, and Tibet and formed part of the Director’s Australian tour organised in partnership with ALTWA, the Australian Library of Tibetan Works & Archives.
