The Australia India Institute is convening a landmark program, Khel Connect: Australia-India Sports Education & Innovation Pathways, to build the partnerships, knowledge, and capacity that will define the next decade of Australia-India sporting collaboration.
A key component of Khel Connect is the Khel Connect Symposium, to be held on 12–13 October 2026 at IIT Madras, Chennai and online. The Symposium will bring together leading Australian and Indian organisations across higher education, sport, industry, and government to exchange knowledge, identify collaboration opportunities, and forge connections in sports education, research, and innovation.
Day 1 will focus on knowledge exchange, featuring a keynote plenary and expert panel discussions on the bilateral opportunity in sports education and innovation. Day 2 will focus on promoting connections and partnership development through structured pitch sessions and facilitated discussions within specialisation-based streams.
Khel Connect Seeding Grants
The Symposium takes place during the open period for the Khel Connect Seeding Grants, which provide AUD $150,000 for Australian-Indian consortia to deliver practical projects across the three priority sports specialisations.
