A Roundtable Discussion
The Institute is pleased to have facilitated a roundtable discussion as part of the public consultation process of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s, ‘A New Roadmap for Australia’s Economic Engagement with India’. This roundtable consultation will look to forge new areas of cooperation, building on those set out by author of the landmark 2018 India Economic Strategy, former Secretary of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and former High Commissioner to India, Mr Peter Varghese AO.
The event explored opportunities for Australian education and skills providers in upskilling the Indian workforce and exploring transnational collaboration opportunities. Education is a flagship sector driving economic engagement between Australia and India with bilateral cooperation in this sector having grown rapidly over the past two decades. The expansion of these collaborative ties continues to be driven by the increasing recognition of the mutual benefits of partnerships for growth and innovation.
