Dr Alice Garner is a historian, educator and performer whose research interests and publications span tourism studies, transnational educational exchange, teaching and learning, labour history and biography. She has been a teacher in the Victorian secondary school system and in recent years has collaborated on University of Melbourne Faculty of Education projects about union training, digital inequality, teacher diversity and mentoring. She is also a professional actor, musician, audio maker and oral historian. An interviewer on the National Library of Australia’s oral history team, Alice records life stories for their collections, mostly recently for a major project on the Indian Diaspora in Australia.
