Sudip has over a decade’s experience working on India-Australia bilateral relations across sports, education and health and has been part of various advisory groups including Victoria’s India Strategy 2018 and Australia’s India Economic Strategy 2035. He shares his time at Aii, while also working as the India Engagement Adviser at University of Melbourne. Prior to this, Sudip worked across Education, Trade, Sports and Tourism departments at the Victorian State Government as a public servant, after working at the Essendon Football Club and the Australian Football League (AFL) leading and driving their Indian and multicultural strategies.
Sudip founded the Australian Rules Football Association of India (AFL India) in 2014 and continues to lead their work across 11 states of India to develop the Australian sport in India through a sport for development approach and represented and captained Team India at four AFL International Cups (2008 – 2017). He also led the formation of the inaugural Australian Kabaddi team that participated at the Kabaddi World Cup 2016. Sudip has a Bachelor of Mass Media (Journalism) degree from University of Mumbai and MSc Sport Management degree from Loughborough University (UK).
