The Hon. Barry O’Farrell

The Hon Barry O’Farrell served as the 43rd Premier of New South Wales (2011-2014). He instigated annual business delegations to India & ‘sister state’ relationships with India’s leading state and was Deputy Chair of the Australia India Council (2015-2019). Between 2020 and 2023 he was Australia’s 21st High Commissioner to India.  During his tenure the relationship was upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2020), the Australia India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement was signed (2022) and a New and Renewable Energy Technology partnership agreed (2023).
