Wednesday October 15, 2025
The Australian Minister for Climate Change and Energy, the Hon. Chris Bowen MP, delivered the Australia India Institute’s 2025 Annual Oration on Wednesday, 15 October.
Now in its ninth year, the prestigious Oration convenes policymakers, academics, industry leaders, and diplomats to advance strategic dialogue, foster business opportunities, and celebrate cultural exchange – strengthening both institutional and people-to-people ties between Australia and India.
Minister Bowen’s address came at a pivotal time in the clean energy transition, following the launch of the elevated India-Australia Renewable Energy Partnership in November 2024 – a milestone moment in bilateral climate and energy cooperation.
The Annual Oration continues to provide a platform for contemporary and agenda-setting debate on issues of mutual significance – from trade and sustainable development to international education, climate change, and security – while deepening understanding and collaboration between Australia and India.
