With only a few days before the Australian election, the Institute will host ‘Democracy Decoded: Australia’s Election in the Indo-Pacific’, a webinar to unpack how the Australian election will impact relationships with India, the US and Australia’s role in the Indo-Pacific region.
I am also pleased to share the Institute will be hosting a Trilateral Maritime Security Dialogue for 2025: Australia, India and Indonesia, to be held in Canberra in June. This Dialogue will hear from key maritime experts on shared security challenges for all three countries.
We recently launched a new report: ‘Towards the SDGs: An Analysis of Australia-India Research Collaborations’ which provides insights on how the SDGs can serve as a lens to guide deeper, more impactful research partnerships between our two countries that benefit the global community.
I’d like to formally welcome our new Research Fellow Dr Alice Garner to the Institute who will work closely with our education team. I also welcome two new experts, Distinguished Fellow, Captain Sarajeet Singh Parmar and Academic Fellow, Dr Teesta Prakash to the Institute. We are thrilled to have their expertise and knowledge.
Finally, I am saddened by the horrific terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir last week that took so many innocent lives. Our thoughts are with India and those families and loved ones who have been affected by such atrocities.
Best,
Lisa
