I was pleased to join the Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan as part of her visit to India, where she gave the Institute’s Annual Oration. It was a significant speech, highlighting how crucial the relationship is with India and Victoria. She also opened the University of Melbourne’s first-ever Global Centre in Delhi. I thank the Premier for her strong commitment to the India-Australia relationship.
We were pleased to partner with AsiaLink Business to welcome the Hon. Piyush Goyal, Indian Minister of Industry and Commerce to Sydney. Also congratulations to AsiaLink Business on their successful Doing Business in India Guide recently launched by Minister for Industry and Science, Ed Husic MP.
The strong leadership touch points of the Australia-India relationship were felt again at the recent Quad leaders meeting in the US, which importantly had a focus on maintaining maritime security in the Indo-Pacific. This is a key research area of the Institute’s Geopolitical and Security program.
The Australia India Women Researchers’ Exchange (AIWE) Program is a very exciting program to create gender balance in STEM, I look forward to meeting these successful researchers. Apply here.
Best,
