In partnership with Australian-French Association for Research and Innovation (AFRAN), the Australia India Institute recently hosted a thought-provoking webinar on ‘Trilateral Cooperation on Maritime Security: Addressing Challenges in the Indian Ocean Region.’
The event highlighted the strategic significance of the western Indian Ocean, a crucial zone for global trade and regional stability while discussing key maritime security challenges including IUU fishing, piracy, transnational crime, climate change, and territorial disputes. Australia and India, as regional leaders, were spotlighted for their pivotal roles in shaping security policies, alongside France and other partners.
