For International Women’s Day 2026, CEO Lisa Singh delivered a lecture on ‘Women Leadership in Politics and Diplomacy: Experiences from the First Australian Parliamentarian of South Asian Heritage’ at Miranda House, Delhi University.
Lisa reflected on her journey through Australian politics; what inspired her to lead, the barriers she faced, and the resilience required to navigate public life. She also shared insights from her work in the Australia-India relationship, highlighting the ongoing underrepresentation of women in leadership and why that must change.
Thank you to the bright and engaging students of Miranda House at Delhi University for their thoughtful questions, and for Professor Hena Singh from the Policy Centre & Gender Lab, and the Bharatedge Foundation for hosting the seminar.
